Every year, Greentech Media seeks to highlight the industry leaders paving the way toward tomorrow’s distributed energy system. The Grid Edge Awards represent the top twenty companies or projects that showcase innovative products, introduce new business models to the electric sector, or otherwise present alternative ways of managing the electric grid that are more efficient and reliable.

Siemens’ new distributed energy resource portfolio, including its Integrated Distributed Energy Resource Management Solution (DERMS), is proud to have been selected from hundreds of nominations and will be presented the award at Grid Edge World Forum in June in San Jose, California.

As the energy landscape continues to evolve with significant distributed generation growth expected, utilities and power aggregators and providers must rely on flexible and scalable technologies to manage these complex systems. At this year’s DistribuTECH, Siemens introduced its Integrated DERMS solution, leveraging integrated planning, management software, and grid equipment to ensure utilities have the data, visibility, and capabilities necessary to intelligently manage distributed energy resources on the grid.

Siemens has leveraged its experience across the industry to bolster its distributed energy strategy, including its work with fellow Grid Edge Award winner Arizona Public Service and its Solar Partner Program. We’re excited to play a role in this ground-breaking project by providing our SICAM renewable management software that helps APS intelligently manage residential solar installations. By providing real-time, detailed insight via smart inverters and the software platform, the utility can manage power generation and usage across their geographically diverse service territory.
