Hannover Messe is the world’s largest industrial technology trade fair and it is fitting that the United States will serve as this year’s partner country as the U.S. and Germany deepen and broaden cooperation in shaping the new age of industry – combining Germany’s engineering prowess with America’s leadership in software. Siemens has been a Hannover Messe exhibitor since the inaugural fair in 1947, and with investments of $35 billion in the U.S. over the past 15 years, Siemens plays anmore...

This week, I had the opportunity to speak at the annual Energy Thought Summit, known as ETS, in Austin, TX. The city is known for its music, barbeque, but more recently, Austin is making its mark with its forward-thinking attitude toward technology and innovation. So, it’s fitting that it was in Austin where many of the power industry’s most innovative thinkers converged for a three-day conversation around how we can make the most of today’s energy opportunities while also planning for themore...

Every time someone drives through a tunnel, walks to a bus stop or boards a train in New York, they rely on a complex transportation system managed by many different agencies. The city’s transportation portfolio includes 789 bridges alone. The average traveler, though, is simply focused on where they need to go. They “don’t care which agency it is,” New York City Department of Transportation (NYCDOT) Commissioner Polly Trottenberg said this morning at The Future of Transportation, hosted bymore...

As Seen In: LinkedIn Pulse, originally posted on March 16thOn January 9, 2007, Steve Jobs walked out on a stage and began his talk by saying: “Every once in a while, a revolutionary product comes along that changes everything.” Jobs’ business suit was his typical black turtleneck, jeans, and sneakers. And as he spoke, explaining the product’s features, camera flashes filled the air and he often had to pause for raucous applause. more...

Recently I turned on Sports Center and saw this highlight: The amazing part is how easy Stephen Curry made that buzzer-beater look. Even more amazing, Curry also recently broke his own record for most three-pointers in a season with more than 20 games left to play. But Curry is doing even more than breaking records. As the New York Times wrote recently, he is “reshaping people’s understanding of the game” by “stretching the court beyond its conceivable limits.”more...

Driven by the technological advances in processing, sensing, and communication technologies and their decreasing cost, physical things have become ever more interconnected and pervasive, allowing them to collect real-time data and take control of other connected devices that affect the real world. This will result in connected value chains of energy systems, public infrastructure, automated manufacturing lines, and healthcare solutions. more...
